“How much does a website cost?” is the first question a clinic owner asks an agency. And the first answer is “it depends”. That is not an excuse: the website of a practice with two doctors and the website of a chain with four branches, online booking into the MIS and two languages are different projects. Let us look at what makes up the price, what a fixed sum should include and what usually “surfaces” after signing.
Short answer
The price of a clinic website depends on scale and on what the website has to do.
- The biggest influences: the number of doctors and branches, languages, integrating online booking with the MIS or CRM, and moving from the old website.
- Ask for a fixed price against a written scope before work starts.
- Compare quotes by what is included, not by the total at the bottom.
In plain wordsAsking “how much does a website cost” is like asking “how much does a renovation cost”. A single practice and a three-storey clinic have different estimates, even if the tiles are the same.
What affects the price
Scale. A practice with one to three doctors, a clinic with several specialities and a chain with branches are three different website structures. The more doctors, services and addresses, the more pages, templates and relationships between them: a doctor works in several branches, a service in several specialities.
Online booking. A form that sends an email and booking with free slots from your MIS are different jobs. Integration depends on what the MIS vendor provides: programmatic access, documentation, a test environment. More in the article on the website and the MIS.
Languages. Each language means separate page addresses, translation of doctors and services, and a check that the patient does not land on an untranslated booking step.
Moving from the old website. Carrying over content without losing Google rankings is separate work: a redirect map for every old page and a check after launch. How it is done is covered in the redesign guide.
Extra modules. A doctor directory with filters, a price list by speciality, booking analytics by source, pages built for search queries, online payment. A patient account is a separate story: it needs its own data protection analysis.
How long it takes
Price and timeline go together. The configurator on our page for clinics shows these guidelines from analysis to launch:
| Scale | Approximate duration |
|---|---|
| Practice, 2 doctors | 6–11 weeks |
| Clinic with several specialities, 12 doctors | 8–15 weeks |
| Chain, 60 doctors and 4 branches | 13–24 weeks |
| Chain with a patient account | 15–28 weeks |
This is a guideline for planning, not a commercial offer: the exact schedule depends on content, integrations and how quickly the clinic approves each stage.
What a fixed price should include
- Analysis and a prototype of the key pages before design.
- Design and development of all agreed templates: home page, speciality, service, doctor, branch, contacts.
- Online booking as agreed — with an integration or a booking module.
- A mobile version and a speed check on a phone.
- Moving from the old website with redirects, if there is one.
- Testing on a copy of the website and launch.
- Handover of access, code and a guide on how to manage the website.
What usually “surfaces” later
- “The integration was not included” — booking, CRM or MIS were not in the scope.
- “Translation is extra” — the second language turned out to be a translation of the menu only.
- “Redirects are SEO, not development” — after launch the website loses rankings.
- “Hosting and plugin licences are your costs” — annual payments nobody warned you about.
- “Post-launch edits are billed by the hour” — every change of a price or a doctor becomes an invoice.
To avoid this, ask for a written scope: what is included, what is not, and how changes are priced if new tasks appear. If you already have a website, start with a technical audit: it will show what can be fixed and what really has to be rebuilt, and the estimate will be more accurate.

Questions clinic owners ask
Why do different agencies’ prices differ many times over?
Because behind the one name “clinic website” hide different scopes: a template with a form that emails and a custom website with a doctor directory and booking into the MIS. Compare using the checklist above, not by the total.
Can we start smaller and grow the website gradually?
Yes. You can start with the main pages, doctors and booking, and add languages, a blog or online payment later. The main thing is to build the structure in advance so you do not have to start from scratch.
Is a template cheaper?
At the start, yes. When you need to book patients into your system and run several branches and languages, a template often becomes more expensive. More in the article on template and custom websites.
How much does support after launch cost?
It depends on what it includes: updates, backups, security, small changes. It is good when your own team changes prices, doctors and promotions without a contractor, and nobody has to be paid for each such change.
For your developer
- Scope. The list of page templates, record types (doctors, services, branches) and the relationships between them is the basis of the estimate.
- Booking. What exactly the MIS or CRM provides: API, widget, test environment, limits — find out before fixing the price.
- Languages. Language versions with their own addresses and hreflang, translation of every booking step.
- Migration. Export of the old addresses, a redirect map, a check after launch.
- Licences. Paid plugins and services with an annual cost — as a separate line in the estimate.
If you would rather not do it yourself
We build clinic websites on WordPress — from a practice to a chain with branches: a doctor directory, online booking into your MIS or CRM, several languages. The price is fixed before work starts, and any extension of scope is a separate estimate agreed with you in advance.
